UltraShipTMS Honored with Stevie Award in Supply Chain Management Solution Category

The UltraShipTMS Spot Market Automation Technology Earns a Bronze Stevie in the 2019 American Business Awards®

May 6, 2019 – Fair Lawn, NJ – Once again, the judges at the American Business Awards recognize the ongoing innovation generated by UltraShipTMS in pursuit of excellence in supply chain management technology solutions.  Judges will confer a Bronze Stevie award upon UltraShipTMS for its Spot Quote Solution which automates the process of soliciting competitive bids from freight carriers to move truckload shipments that were not accepted by a shipper’s regularly contracted carrier.

Judges were clearly impressed with the business case data provided in the UltraShip nomination illustrating how three shippers using the spot quote automation solution to tap the spot market successfully saved nearly $30,000 over a study period of two short weeks – a nearly 6% savings over expedited freight costs booked without the competitive bidding automation.

In the nomination language, UltraShipTMS Director of Application Development, Shannon Potter explained how the tools deliver value beyond just the freight rate savings.  “Savvy users leverage the UltraShipTMS spot quote tool as an analytics device”, says Potter continuing, “Spending a few hours at the beginning of each week to send spot tenders for shipments in their top 10 most commonly-used lanes allows logistics planners to identify spot quotes near or below contracted rates in any given lane.”  Potter explains, “This practice helps shippers achieve visibility into where always-fluctuating market rates may have fallen.”

The Spot Quote Tool from UltraShipTMS joins other UltraShip products and services earning Stevies recognition in years past.  Ultra’s LoadFusion Transportation Optimizer earned a Gold Stevie as Supply Chain Management Product of the Year in 2013.  A pair of Bronze Stevies in 2017 for “Best User Interface” for the TMS CORE and “Best Online Newsletter”  for UltraShip’s Supply Chain Collaborator blog followed 2015 Bronze level recognition for “Best Interface Design” and 2014’s Gold Stevie for “Customer Service Department of the Year” and a Silver Stevie for “IT Team of the Year”.

More than 3,800 nominations from organizations of all sizes and in virtually every industry were submitted this year for consideration in a wide range of categories.
