Nicholas Carretta, President and Chief Executive Officer
Mr. Carretta has been in transportation and supply chain management for 17 years and is currently serving as the organization’s President. He is also a current member of the Council of Supply Chain Management Professionals (CSCMP). Prior to becoming President, Mr. Carretta served as Vice President of the company from 2007 – 2009 leading the Sales, Marketing and Information Technology teams.
His vocation started with Carretta Trucking, a long time leader in asset based transportation services and innovations. Nicholas was also the former President and Owner of Alliant Internet Solutions, a web based software consulting company. Alliant specialized in servicing mid-sized company’s technology needs by providing web based applications.
Nicholas began his career with Ultra Logistics in 1996 directing the Information Technology team towards building the company’s leading hosted TMS solution. In 2006, five years after the first commercial release of UltraShipTMS, the logistics IT division of the business was spun off from the parent organization. Nicholas has continued to helm the organization, growing UltraShipTMS into one of the leading cloud-based TMS solution providers disrupting the status quo in this competitive space.
Nicholas graduated from Bryant University with a BA in Finance.
Shannon Potter, Director of Application Development
Since 2005, Shannon Potter has been an instrumental member of the technology team propelling UltraShipTMS to the forefront of its field. Beginning his tenure with the company as an application developer building customer and internal applications and providing support to client users, Mr. Potter’s tireless work ethic and innate coding talent propelled him into the position of Senior Manager of Application Development by 2011. In that role, Shannon led software development project teams, managed server maintenance teams and provided critical guidance from testing through new-releases and deployments. Having cultivated a disciplined team of developers and efficient IT processes, Mr. Potter was promoted to Director in 2013.
Shannon comes to Ultra with experience garnered during four years of consultative work for a number of successful companies including financial giant, CIT Group. During this period, Potter honed his skills in Windows, MSSQL and Linux server administration, installation and configurations. He also dedicated himself to achieving deep expertise in application development using technologies like ASP and .NET and later, LAMP (Linux, Apache, MySQL, PHP).
Shannon studied computer science at Bergen Community College.
Sherry Brown, Director of Product Development
Sherry applies her extensive experience in both logistics and software development to product development initiatives under way within the award-winning UltraShipTMS development team. With an advanced degree in industrial engineering and experience implementing a number of other TMS solutions from leading providers, Sherry contributes significantly to UltraShip’s continuous improvement in areas such as transportation optimization, routing, consolidation and mode selection.
Ms. Brown has held prior positions with top-tier transportation companies like Transplace and Mode Transportation. Her role includes improving enforcement and standardization of best practices targeting ongoing growth by helping to reduce UltraShipTMS implementation times. Sherry holds a Master of Science degree in industrial engineering from the University of Arkansas.
Anthony Vitiello, Director of Marketing
Anthony Vitiello brings 20 years of success in marketing and public relations to the position, with specialization in the successful promotion and marketing of enterprise software to some of the world’s largest companies. Anthony has held marketing leadership positions within a Fortune 500 software company, an international public relations agency serving Silicon Valley companies through the heyday of the dot-com boom, and an exclusive, high net-worth wealth management firm serving professional sports figures and top energy industry executives.
A published columnist and prolific blogger, Mr. Vitiello is responsible for generating and curating Ultra’s Supply Chain Collaborator blog and the company’s burgeoning library of technical papers, business case studies, e-newsletters and other materials.
Anthony graduated from Sarah Lawrence College with a BA in liberal arts.
Marianne DeRosa, Director of Business Development
Marianne brings a wealth of business-to-business sales experience to her role with UltraShipTMS. Continuing a distinguished career as a top-performing sales leader, Ms. DeRosa has proven effective at driving sales growth across numerous industries including technologies, telecommunications, manufacturing and chemicals.
Before accepting the position with UltraShipTMS, Marianne held directorate and management level positions at Syncsort, a leading, big data solutions company, AT&T and Fuji Photographic. In each role, Ms. DeRosa distinguished herself by earning top producer status.
Marianne DeRosa holds a degree in Business Management from Ramapo College.
Richard Chrzanowski, Logistics & Supply Chain Best Practices Manager
Rich Chrzanowski is a veritable encyclopedia of transportation logistics and supply chain management tactics and strategies. With more than three decades of hands on experience in nearly every aspect of transportation logistics – both customer and operationally focused – Rich brings invaluable insight to UltraShipTMS customer programs.
Over the course of his notable career, Mr. Chrzanowski worked for leading names across all facets of supply chain management. He has served in key capacities with top carrier organizations, leading 3PLs, national retailers, intermodal providers and fleet operators. Having real-world, first-hand experience overcoming the unique challenges facing each of these types of supply chain user groups, Rich brings unparalleled perspective to the tasks associated with architecting, implementing and manipulating highly effective logistics IT solutions and programs.
Rich Chrzanowski is experienced in management, budgeting, contract negotiation, database administration, analytics and strategic planning having handled these tasks for Modells Sporting Goods, Linens-N-Things, the Hub Group, H&M International and other leading concerns.
Rich holds a BA in Political Science from William Paterson College.
Rainer Tauchert, Implementation Manager
Rainer brings twenty years of professional experience in the dual disciplines central to successful logistics and supply chain IT solution implementations – transportation/logistics and enterprise software. His excellent analytic, problem solving, interpersonal, and communication skills have helped leading organizations to efficiently and effectively implement technology solutions to address complex and critical business needs.
Mr. Tauchert has extensive experience providing project management specifically for the implementation of transportation management software, including installed and cloud-hosted (SaaS) systems. Rainer’s experience includes numerous implementations for Fortune 100 companies such as General Motors, United Continental, and Home Depot. Deep expertise in software development using both Agile and Waterfall environments, natural leadership and communication abilities make Mr. Taucher successful at liaising between technology and the business functions to ensure smooth implementations and the effective training that ensures robust user adoption.
Rainer studies at Rutgers University and also at Farleigh Dickinson where he earned his degree.
Chris Noble, Implementation Manager
Chris brings more than a decade of deep transportation industry experience to his role as Implementation Manager. Having logged time with successful organizations in the 3PL, NVOCC and warehousing/distribution center spaces, Chris enjoys excellent perspectives on what is required for successfully designing and deploying all manner of logistics IT solutions including TMS, YMS, fleet management tools, route/freight optimization tools, WMS and others.
In his role with UltraShipTMS, Mr. Noble is responsible for managing customer implementations and program operations, delivering effective, efficient transportation expertise to Ultra clients. Chris also leverages best practices in enterprise resource planning, transportation management systems and business intelligence platforms, helping client organizations minimize the costs and resource requirements necessary to effectively control their complex transportation networks. Further, Chris leads the definition and development of key performance indicators used to evaluate operational and organizational efficiency and effectiveness on behalf of clients.
Christopher holds a Master of International Management from Thunderbird, School of Global Management and a Bachelor of Science Degree from Villanova University in Business Administration.
Veronica Medrano, Logistics Technology Analyst
Veronica’s career as a technology analyst spans more than fifteen years during which time she has held analyst positions with well-respected business organizations in and around the New York Metro area. Her experience includes exposure to industry standard technology platforms such as Bloomberg and NASDAQ financial systems, Amazon e-commerce platforms, and numerous others.
Ms. Medrano holds degrees in Computer Information Systems and Microcomputer Business Systems from New York City College of Technology.
